… Don't cry because it's over
smile because it happened…
Dr. Seuss
The sun sets on L.A., another beautiful sunny day. Elisabeth is already on the phone, and Caroline, who got back early from the Viper Room – early, that is to say at four in the morning–, she's making her breakfast ready to feel good for her next male hooking attempt.
As every morning, the members of the Carlson family mind their own business under the same roof, paying as little attention as possible to the others inhabitants of the house.
— Hi there! Slept well? Asks Elisabeth without bothering to look at John.
— Not so well. I made a f*** dream in fact, replies John.
— Oh really? Care to tell me? Says Caroline with her mouth full, always interested in this kind of weird experience.
— The dream in itself seemed very real, as I was in it. It's only when I woke up that it did seem f*** strange. A guy, called the dispatchor, dwelling in an access lock, was telling me that it was the last day of my life...
Elisabeth, distant and scornful as usual with her husband, finally looks at him and utters a mock cry... as the good actress she is alone, could produce one.
— And what is it that you've done?
— Well, I tried to go back to sleep.
— But I'm not talking about your nightmare, but about your... your face! And your hands! You look 15 years younger!
— That was the reason why I wanted to treat you out last night at the restaurant, to introduce you with my new self!
— You must me completely nuts... Those talking on the radio, they're right when they speak about you, they say that you're both Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde, the Joker...
— I'm fueled up with CharlesTox if you wanna know everything. IV shots delivered in a high pressured access lock. And, you won't believe it, my adorable wife, but, I also dreamed about you, and in my dream this dimwit of Steven Palace was your lover! This gossip has been confirmed by our friend the Joker.
Caroline is not at all surprised by how much younger her father now looks. She quickly looks at her mother, without his father noticing it, as he still is deep in his nightmare.
— And you Caroline, I was giving you my Apple Watch!!! Only God knows why...
— And of course, I'd better expect nothing from you, indeed, says Elisabeth, bitter as ever. The weird thing here being that she was interested in what was going on around her, but she was somewhat shaken by the fact that John had somehow found out about her and Steven Palace...
— You? I had thrown your iPhone on the floor, John told her with a mischievous smile.
— Sounds more like you, it'll give you the opportunity to buy me the latest version, or even better, the 18 carat pink gold Apple Watch!
— Oh shit, shit, shit! I'm late, he says, getting up.
— Of course, you deliver speeches to
